Free to Explore: Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days is England's biggest heritage festival. It celebrates our fantastic history, architecture and culture, offering people the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences - all of which are free.

On a national level The National Trust co-ordinates the event, and has included it in the new 10-year strategy: see p22-23 in Playing our Part.
In 2015 players of People's Potcode Lottery co-funded Heritage Open Days alongside Historic England.

We would like to thank all our venue organisers for opening their premises, and Terry Knight for leading a walk. For our 2015 programme please click here.(1.6MB pdf file).

Dates for next year 8th - 11th September 2016.
